Public Company Information:

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WGL Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:WGL), the parent company of Washington Gas and other energy-related subsidiaries, has been named one of the 40 Best Companies for Diversity for the 3rd consecutive year, according to Black Enterprise magazine. One thousand publicly traded companies and 50 leading global companies with major U.S. operations were invited to participate in the survey. The survey used four key areas: suppliers, senior management, workforce and corporate board diversity as measurements of each company’s diversity practices.

WGL Holdings has the distinction of being one of only two companies that met all four criteria for diversity measurement.

“We are delighted to be recognized by Black Enterprise magazine for our commitment to cultivating diversity within our workforce and external operations. WGL Holdings promotes an environment reflective of the changing cultural business landscape,” said William Zeigler, Jr., Vice President of Human Resources for Washington Gas. “The fact that we are one of two companies that met all four criteria is not only an honor, but a testament to the dedication of our talented employees who daily fulfill the company’s core values and goals.”

The complete list of the 40 Best Companies for Diversity is scheduled for publication in the July 2009 issue of Black Enterprise magazine.
